Drink Plenty of Water

One of the best things to do after a massage is drink plenty of water. Did you know that your body is two-thirds water? Drinking lots of water helps lubricate your joints, spine and tissues. Water carries oxygen throughout your body. During your massage, toxins are released from your muscles and tissues. The more water you drink, the better you will feel. Drinking eight glasses a day will help flush out all the toxins from your muscles and tissues.

Take a Warm Bath

A warm bath is a great complement to your massage. Inviting heat will naturally increase circulation in your body. Crystals and Epsom Salt work very well. When preparing a warm bath, add a handful of Epsom salt or bath crystals to the running water. Be sure to slowly stir the crystals into the warm water so they can dissolve properly. Soaking in a warm bath can be the moment you’ve been waiting for. Lay back, relax and breathe deep. Let go, and allow your mind and body to be free.

Breathe Right and Feel Great

Breathing is a something we often take for granted. Most of the time, we breathe without even thinking about it. In general, we tend to take short and shallow breaths. Learning to breathe better by taking deep breaths has major health benefits.

Being aware of your breath is called “conscious breathing”. Focus on taking a deep breath, as deep as possible (you are probably taking a deep breath right now!). Then exhale slowly all the way out. Repeat this several times and you will quickly notice a difference in how you feel. This method immediately lowers your heart rate and quickly delivers more oxygen to your body and tissues. As you practice deep breathing, you will naturally feel less anxiety and stress, and more peace and relaxation.
